Agenda for Research
IVA’s ambition is to move research policy issues higher up on the political agenda by using dialogue to take advantage of research policy studies and help produce a foundation of new knowledge.
Since the beginning of 2010 IVA has been running a three-year project called Agenda for Research aimed at establishing a forum for research policy debate in Sweden. Dialogue on research policy issues is under way between elected officials in the Government and Parliament, research funders, those conducting research (universities and institutes) and users of research results (trade and industry, the public sector, organisations).
The goal is to increase the focus on and strengthen the research policy discourse in Sweden.
The dialogue is based on existing studies and aims to identify knowledge gaps. Based on needs identified by the target groups, the project has initiated targeted studies of the research and innovation system. Through this process the project will generate valuable information for the Government’s next research and innovation policy bill.
The dialogue and studies are made available in packets customised for the different target groups as well as through targeted communication. Round table discussions, hearings and seminars are important components of the project.
