IVA is after ten years of successfully running Mentor4Research introducing a new model. Universities can now become a Mentor4Research partner to run a Mentor4Research mentor program locally.
Mentor4Research – a catalyst for commercialisation
The long term impact of Mentor4Research is to ensure that more research results from Swedish universities are commercialised faster and more successfully. The short term goals are to ensure that researchers increase:
- interest and engagement to commercialise their research results
- personal networks in the business community
- insights into how research can be commercialised and identify their role in the process
Mentor4Research supports the personal development of researchers. Universities gain in the short term by increasing their service offering to their researchers. In the longer term universities gain by having researchers more able to succeed in an increasingly complex globally competitive academic world.
Proven track record
The program has during its ten years proven to be very successful. In the last tenth round of Mentor4Research 2015, researchers gave an exceptional average rating of 9,3, on a scale 1-10 in recommending the program to other researchers. Similarly business mentors also gave a rating of 9,3 in recommending business colleagues to accept an invitation to become a mentor.
A new local model for universities
IVA is after ten years developing a new model for Mentor4Research. Universities who are interested can apply to become a Mentor4Research partner to run a Mentor4Research program locally.
