Science and Technology for All

Science and Technology for All (Naturvetenskap och teknik för alla, NTA) is a school development programme aimed at stimulating curiosity and increasing interest in science and technology among schoolchildren and teachers. NTA is aimed at preschool up to year nine. Today NTA has 146 members, 118 of which are municipal authorities.

Between 1997 and 2013 the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA) and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) in cooperation with municipalities and independent schools, were responsible for developing and promoting NTA.

In 2013 a new association NTA Skolutveckling took over overall responsibility for the NTA programme, but KVA and IVA are still involved by having representatives on the association’s board and through the Scientific Council to which they appoint members.

Digital development has advanced since the start of NTA and a new project is now under way to explore the digitalisation opportunities for the NTA programme – NTA Digital.
