The purpose of IVA’s Royal Technology Mission to Lund and Malmö is to study how the innovation climate and entrepreneurship in various industries in the region can create business opportunities and jobs, and promote good urban development. The delegation consists of around 25 delegates from academia and the business community. The Technology Mission provides examples of how Sweden’s competitiveness is increasing through successful enterprise.
The delegates spent Wednesday in Lund where they visited incubators and corporations to learn about how research results are being turned into business. Destinations included VentureLab and Medicon Village. The supply of talent and the region’s competitiveness were in focus when the delegates visited the Sony Corporation and the MAX IV research lab.
Today the delegates are heading to Malmö to look at the mutual benefits of urban development and business development. Destinations will include Malmö City, Massive Entertainment and the Hyllie Innovation Center.
At startup incubator Minc IVA will present its report on idea-driven urban planning and positive development spirals. Participants at a panel discussion will include Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh (S), Municipal Executive Board Chairman in Malmö, and Mats Hederos, CEO of AMF Fastigheter.
