There is normally one research bill per mandate period, although the current Government has indicated that it wants to create a more long-term research policy. What will happen to basic funding for universities and research institutions? Will the research councils’ funding and missions change? What new approaches are being proposed for research infrastructure? And how will the connections between research and innovation and between research and education be handled? What special initiatives will be presented and why?
IVA is welcoming guests to attend a seminar with Helene Hellmark Knutsson, Minister for Higher Education and Research, who will present the Government’s new Research Bill. Comments will then be provided by a panel consisting of Eva Åkesson, Vice-Chancellor Uppsala University, Pia Sandvik, CEO RISE and Jan-Eric Sundgren, Senior Advisor Teknikföretagen. IVA’s research and education policy expert Martin Wikström will moderate the discussion.
