Science & Society: Fusion and symbiosis of humans and technologies

Remote communication or interaction between humans, machines and services has developed throughout years. Modern techniques such as robotics, artificial intelligence and edge computing allow us to interact instantly, using voice or text input. In this seminar, organized by members of IVA´s Leadership Programme (IFG), we will discuss other technologies that would allow us to communicate and interact even more efficiently.

Brain-computer interfaces or Cybernic interfaces allow us with high precision read out brain signals, or nerve signals, that can be instantly communicated to a machine or a wearable, even an exoskeleton that you are wearing. Sending this brain signal to a receiving device belonging to a fellow human would practically mean enablement of telepathy. Using Cybernic interface to connect humans and robots, the robot would become a part of your body.

In this seminar we will invite to an inspirational talk and a panel discussion on the topic of brain-computer interfaces and Cybernics, as well as other advanced Cybernic technologies with regenerative medicine/implantable devices, or other novel means of remote interaction allowing us to exchange senses such as taste, smell, and tactile sensations.
