To do so we are developing novel biomaterials from renewable feedstocks with Nordic Bio-Rubber being our first material that will hit the market. It is produced from birch bark, an abundant residue of the Scandinavian pulp and paper industry, and based on a comprehensive material characterisation we believe that Nordic Bio-Rubber has the potential to replace synthetic rubbers in a variety of applications. This will help Sweden to be a leader in sustainable technology, thus reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and making Sweden's industry more robust against future crises.
