The Industrial Research Council gives young leaders in research, development and innovation the opportunity to develop their knowledge and leadership, as well as stimulating ideas that are strategically important for the future of Swedish industry. Nominations for the 2027 admissions will open in spring 2026.

Resilient Digital Infrastructure

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to Sweden's digital infrastructure being able to measure up to the most advanced countries in the world in terms of capacity, quality and security. The project brings together different perspectives to come up with concrete and feasible proposals for action that strengthen the resilience of the digital infrastructure.

European life science competetiveness: Why IP is fundamental

Prince Daniel's Fellowship

Prince Daniel's Fellowship, run by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) in partnership with Prince Daniel, aims to inspire more young people to see entrepreneurship as an option and take the leap in starting their own business.

Schools for Our Times

Reports

IVA believes in humanity’s capacity to contribute positively to society through the engineering and economic sciences. Our contribution includes producing reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals within the relevant areas. All our reports are reviewed by experts.

How to apply for a scholarship from the Hans Werthén Foundation

Each scholarship is for a year of scientific work at the postdoc or doctoral candidate level, or for MBA or LL.M studies in an advanced international setting. The application for 2026 is now closed.

Hans Werthén Foundation — disbursement and reporting

The Hans Werthén Foundation places great importance on receiving a general description of the most important experience gained from periods abroad funded by the scholarship — both in scientific/ scholarly terms and socially. The reports are used by the committee in its work, but also as information for future scholarship holders.

Honorary Fellows

The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) can appoint someone who has, through their work or in other ways, significantly promoted the academy’s objectives as an honorary fellow. The appointment is proposed by IVA's Presidium.

The Academy’s Divisions

IVA’s approximately 1,000 Swedish Fellows are divided into 12 Divisions. The Divisions monitor and work on current issues in their specific fields, not least by organising seminars and other activities.
