IVA believes in humanity’s capacity to contribute positively to society through the engineering and economic sciences. We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide. By examining how different parts of the chest and abdomen move during breathing, healthcare professionals can detect abnormalities earlier, monitor rehabilitation progress, and adapt interventions to each patient’s needs. The solution is designed to be easy to use in different healthcare settings, from hospitals to follow-up closer to the patient’s home. The goal is to develop a CE-marked medical device that makes advanced analysis of respiratory function more accessible, reduces the need for resource-intensive examinations, and strengthens the potential for equitable, efficient, and preventive care.
