Gold Nanowires for Large-Area Printed Electronics

Today’s flexible displays, solar cells, and sensors suffer from stability and scalability issues of their transparent electrode. Our technology offers high performance gold nanowires inks at scale, enabling large-area printed electrodes.

Current gold nanowires are limited to small-volume life science applications due to expensive and difficult synthesis. Our patented cost and energy-efficient production of printable gold nanowire inks expands the material into high-volume electronic applications. The material combines high conductivity and transparency with flexibility, and high chemical, optical and thermal stability. This makes it attractive for transparent electrodes in flexible solar cells, displays, optics, antennas, and sensors, where it can replace current brittle metal oxides, unstable silver nanowires and lower-conductivity polymers. We are now moving from lab to pilot-scale production and are seeking partners to develop new applications based on our technology.
