The seminar will open with an overview of China’s technological development, policy priorities and industrial strategy. Mikko Huotari, Executive Director of the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS),  a leading European research institute on China and a key voice in the European policy debate on China’s technological and industrial strategy.

Industry representatives with extensive experience of the Chinese market in the automotive sector will share practical insights into how companies engage with China’s rapidly evolving industrial ecosystem and what lessons can be drawn from operating in this environment.

The seminar concludes with a panel discussion reflecting on the broader implications for Europe and Sweden. The discussion will address questions of industrial competitiveness, lessons from China’s industrial development, and how Swedish industry and policymakers can position themselves in an increasingly strategic and technology-driven global economy.

The seminar aims to provide a deeper understanding of today's challenges and opportunities, and to support effective and strategic action within Swedish industry.
