A smart Textile Platform For Neuromuscular Rehabilitation in the Home Environment

The amount of training is a critical factor for achieving desired outcomes in rehabilitation. Patient compliance to rehabilitation is generally low, particularly in long-term home-based training.

IVAs 100-lista 2023

NeuRehab@Home is a biofeedback concept focusing on recording, analysing and presenting myoelectric (EMG) signals to make the individual aware of their muscle activity. The game-changer is a textile-electrode system which makes specific training regimes easy-to-use, comfortable during long-term use and at low costs. The concept has been successfully applied in a pilot study addressing Phantom Limb Pain where muscle activity from the amputated limb is used to control, e.g. computer games.

Home-based training protocols can improve the quality of life for patients and substantially reduce healthcare and service costs. Join us to explore the potential of other self-administered treatments. We seek to apply the NeuRehab@Home platform to other areas of healthcare.

IVA’s 100 List 2023 - Technology in the service of humanity

IVA’s 100 List 2023 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Technology in the Service of Humanity within in climate change, energy supply, welfare technology, cybersecurity and crisis preparedness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.

Named contact persons for each research project on the 100 List are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented.
