  The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy with a mission “...to promote engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.” We bring together leading engineers, economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders in business and the public sector, who contribute generously to IVA’s operations through their intellectual capital and their engagement.

We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide. We also recognise and encourage the efforts of others by awarding distinctions and grants.

  IVA has initiated the vision project Swedish Futures with the aim of developing an overarching vision for Sweden as a a world-leading country of technology and innovation by 2035, with a focus on competitiveness, sustainability, and security.

Forskningen ska bidra till en cirkulär omställning. Forskare i entreprenörskap och design stöttar, genom aktionsforskning, företag och kommuner att bli mer cirkulära. Genom forskningen utvecklas också verktyg för en cirkulär omställning som är baserade på affärsmodellering, metadesign och normkritik. Dessa verktyg ska bli tillgängliga och komma fler till nytta efter projektets slut.

IVA’s 100 List 2020 - Sustainable competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2020 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Sustainable competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.
