  IVA believes in humanity’s capacity to contribute positively to society through the engineering and economic sciences. We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide. We also recognise and encourage the efforts of others by awarding distinctions and grants.

För att hushålla med resurser och minska klimatavtrycket behöver vi tillämpa cirkulär ekonomi. Svensk skogsindustri hanterar stora flöden av material. Produktion av timmer och papper skapar samtidigt processavlopp, slam och askor. Strömmar som idag hanteras som avfall. I dessa strömmar ansamlas värdefulla ämnen som behöver recirkuleras tillbaka till skogen, exempelvis i form av biokol. Alternativt kan avfallen upparbetas till nya fossilfria material som till exempel PHA, en biologiskt nedbrytbar polymer.

Min vision är att sluta kretsloppen och skapa värde av dessa restprodukter. Utvecklingen sker tillsammans med både stora skogsindustriella koncerner och nya små startup-företag.

IVA’s 100 List 2022 - Technology in the Service of Humanity

IVA’s 100 List 2022 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Technology in the Service of Humanity. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.

Named contact persons for each research project on the 100 List are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented.
