DRIVE - Lithium-ion batteries

Graphene-silicon composite for high-capacity batteries.

IVAs 100-lista 2020

Lithium-ion batteries are crucial for a future green energy society. An intensive research effort has led to many high-capacity solutions but these solutions lack low-cost industrial implementations. Our research has shown: 1) We have demonstrated a new method to grow 10-nanometer silicon nanoparticles on the graphene flakes. 2) Using this graphene-silicon composite in the anodes, we have demonstrated a 10% higher capacity over the best commercially available batteries.

IVA’s 100 List 2020 - Sustainable competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2020 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Sustainable competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.

Named contact persons for each research project on the 100 List are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented.
