ECG is the standard diagnostic tool for cardiovascular diseases. Current ECG sensors give disturbances in needed mobile monitoring which might lead to wrong diagnosis. Our research has discovered the mechanisms behind the disturbances and resulted in new unique sensor design eliminating most of the problems. The findings are patented and a company Piotrode Medical AB is formed to commercialize the technology on the large global market. The upper ECG recording in the picture is with Piotrode’s sensor and the lower is with a market leader sensor. The Piotrode sensor shows a dramatic reduction in noise and disturbances compared to the market leader which indicates a great market potential.
