In recent years, the world witnessed many devastating wildfires that resulted in destructive human and environmental impacts across the globe. The project develops a novel and automatic method, using satellite data and AI, for near real-time wildfire detection, progression monitoring and rapid damage assessment. The timely and reliable information from the project contributes to improved emergency response and decision making thus minimize damages to vegetation, property and reduce CO2 emission.

IVA’s 100 List 2020 - Sustainable competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2020 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Sustainable competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.
