  The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy with a mission “...to promote engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.” We bring together leading engineers, economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders in business and the public sector, who contribute generously to IVA’s operations through their intellectual capital and their engagement.

We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide. Eldrift är en möjliggörare för fossilfria transporter till sjöss. Att rakt av elektrifiera båtar i dag på samma sätt som bilar är dock inte konkurrenskraftigt på grund av skillnader i driftförhållanden. Genom detta forskningsprojekt studeras nya eldrivna bärplanskoncept som möjliggör energibesparingar med upp till 70% i ett väldigt kompakt format. Kombinationen eldrift och bärplan kan på allvar erbjuda ett konkurrenskraftigt alternativ till dagens fossildrivna båtar.

IVA’s 100 List 2020 - Sustainable competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2020 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Sustainable competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.
