  The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy with a mission “...to promote engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.” We bring together leading engineers, economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders in business and the public sector, who contribute generously to IVA’s operations through their intellectual capital and their engagement.

We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide.   IVA has initiated the vision project Swedish Futures with the aim of developing an overarching vision for Sweden as a a world-leading country of technology and innovation by 2035, with a focus on competitiveness, sustainability, and security.

Projektet ENABLE finansieras av IMI (Innovative Medicine Initiative) och syftar till att främja utvecklingen av lovande nya antibiotika som riktar sig mot gramnegativa bakterier såsom Escherichia coli. ENABLE är ett samarbete mellan Europeiska universitet, läkemedelsföretag, småföretag samt forskningsinstitut. Inom ramen för ENABLE utvecklas också en läkemedelskandidat med ursprung i Anders Karléns forskningsgrupp.

IVA’s 100 List 2020 - Sustainable competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2020 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Sustainable competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.
