Projektet återvinner textilt blandavfall av polyester och cellulosafibrer (t.ex bomull/viskos/lyocell), kompatibelt med svensk skogsindustri och en cirkulär ekonomi. I processen separeras textilfibrerna. Cellulosafibrerna återvinns till en dissolvingmassa och vidare till återvunnen regenatfiber (t.ex viskos/lyocell). Polyestern bryts ner till dess byggstenar, som kan användas som råvara för att skapa nya återvunna material, t.ex polyester. Forskningen har inspirerat den i världen unikt storskaliga utveckling av blandtextilåtervinning som nu görs i sydsvensk skogsindustri.
