  The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy with a mission “...to promote engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.” We bring together leading engineers, economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders in business and the public sector, who contribute generously to IVA’s operations through their intellectual capital and their engagement.

  IVA believes in humanity’s capacity to contribute positively to society through the engineering and economic sciences. We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide. We also recognise and encourage the efforts of others by awarding distinctions and grants.

  IVA has initiated the vision project Swedish Futures with the aim of developing an overarching vision for Sweden as a a world-leading country of technology and innovation by 2035, with a focus on competitiveness, sustainability, and security.

Projektet om 12 doktorandprojekt är en unik satsning på forskning inom hållbar stadsutveckling i nära samverkan med näringslivet och Högskolorna i Dalarna och Mälardalen. Doktoranderna blir anställda inom näringslivet, medan forskningshandledarna finns vid berörda lärosäten.

Fokus ligger på att integrera fyra utmaningar 1) Sociala hållbarhets aspekter utifrån invånarnas perspektiv 2) Klimateffektivitet och buffert-kapacitet hos cirkulära lösningar för infrastrukturer 3) Styrning och planering 4) Metoder och verktyg för samproduktion.

IVA’s 100 List 2020 - Sustainable competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2020 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Sustainable competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.
