Nuclear cardiology and AI for precision diagnosis of myocardial ischemia and coronary artery stenosis

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common type of heart disease worldwide and a leading cause of death globally every year and it is predicted to remain so for the next 20 years.

IVAs 100-lista 2023

It is estimated that around 200 million people are living with CAD today. Early and precise diagnosis are important in order to decide the patient’s management.

Using AI and nuclear cardiology imaging (MPI) we developed a tool for evaluation of CAD, performing an automatic estimation of the probability of myocardial ischemia and the degree of coronary artery stenosis, information which is otherwise obtained by interventional methods.

Our solution will help avoid unnecessary coronary interventions and hospitalizations saving time and money to the healthcare system and providing better healthcare to our patients.

Our development is unique, there is no other software in the market which can offer the same valuable and precise information about the stenosis of the coronary arteries as we do.

IVA’s 100 List 2023 - Technology in the service of humanity

IVA’s 100 List 2023 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme Technology in the Service of Humanity within in climate change, energy supply, welfare technology, cybersecurity and crisis preparedness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.

Named contact persons for each research project on the 100 List are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented.
