The research objective is to develop safe remote driving systems. That is, vehicles that can be remotely driven by a human operator.
Such a system is meant to be part of autonomous driving systems but also to facilitate their deployment in urban environment, while the existing technological gaps are filled. Alternatively, remote driving can enhance the flexibility of car sharing.
IVA’s 100 List 2019 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme From knowledge to competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.
