  The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy with a mission “...to promote engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.” We bring together leading engineers, economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders in business and the public sector, who contribute generously to IVA’s operations through their intellectual capital and their engagement.

We run a number of projects and programmes, produce reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals, and organise open seminars and meetings nationwide. We also recognise and encourage the efforts of others by awarding distinctions and grants.

  IVA has initiated the vision project Swedish Futures with the aim of developing an overarching vision for Sweden as a a world-leading country of technology and innovation by 2035, with a focus on competitiveness, sustainability, and security.

Wallenberg-centrum för kvantteknologi

Vi bygger en svensk kvantdator – hårdvara av supraledande komponenter, elektronik för styrning, samt mjukvara på alltifrån lägsta nivå (kontroll av kvantdatorn) till högsta nivå (algoritmer).

Vårt 3-års-mål är att demonstrera kvantdatorberäkningar av intresse för våra företagspartners: molekyl-beräkningar (läkemedelsdesign) och optimering inom statistik, finans, maskininlärning etc.

Kvantdatorer och AI har ömsesidig nytta: kvantdatorn kan snabba upp maskininlärning; AI kan förbättra kvantdator-designen.

IVA’s 100 List 2019 - From knowledge to competitiveness

IVA’s 100 List 2019 highlights a diverse range of research projects from Swedish universities, under the theme From knowledge to competitiveness. The projects have been selected based on their great potential to create value through commercialization, business and method development, or societal impact. All participating researchers are interested in increased contacts with the business sector for the application and further development of their projects.

Named contact persons for each research project on the 100 List are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented.
