IVA Fellow Anne L'Huillier awarded Nobel Prize

IVA Fellow Anne L'Huillier is awarded this year's Nobel Prize in Physics “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”. Anne L'Huillier, Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) since 2012, shares this year's Nobel Prize with Pierre Agostini and Ferenc Krausz.

Vässar skolan med AI

Från massutbildning till att varje elev har sin egen, personliga lärare. Rätt använt kan AI förändra skolan i grunden, menar Jalal Nouri, professor i teknikstött lärande och grundare av EdAider som utvecklar en AI-plattform för skolan. Företaget var med på IVAs 100-lista 2021 och har i dag 11 anställda.

Junior Academy: Ett år av innovation, samarbete och hållbarhet

Genom Junior Academy samarbetar svenska ungdomar online med andra ungdomar och världsledande forskare från hela världen för att lösa riktiga globala samhällsutmaningar. Under 2023-24 har de haft möjlighet att ta sig an två utmaningar på temat hållbarhet, som organiserats och tagits fram av IVA. De vinnande lösningarna har imponerat på juryn.

Regeringens initiativ till kvantstrategi välkomnas

Kvantteknologi har pekats ut som ett av de forsknings- och innovationsfält som på allvar kan revolutionera samhällsutvecklingen. Nu har regeringen gett Vetenskapsrådet i uppgift att ta fram ett förslag till en nationell strategi för hur Sverige ska hänga med på tekniktåget som ingen vill missa. En av dem som välkomnar beskedet är IVA-ledamoten Per Delsing på Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WAQT), som arbetat länge för detta.

"Det är ju inte allmänbildning direkt" 10–15-åringars syn på naturvetenskap och teknik

Bara fem procent av mellan- och högstadieeleverna i Sverige vill arbeta med miljö- och klimatfrågor i framtiden, enligt IVAs undersökning om 10-15-åringars syn på naturvetenskap, matematik, ingenjörskap och teknik (STEM). Rapporten visar också att unga tycker att naturvetenskap och teknik är mer viktigt än roligt, och att det finns betydande skillnader mellan flickors och pojkars intressen.

IVAs Guldmedalj 2019 - Daniel Ek och Martin Lorentzon

Styrelseordförande Daniel Ek och civilingenjör Martin Lorentzon tilldelas IVAs Guldmedalj för att ha skapat företaget Spotify som i grunden förändrat musikindustrin och stoppat piratkopieringen. De har som innovatörer och entreprenörer byggt ett av få (möjligen det enda) europeiska techbolag som lyckats mäta sig med kinesiska och amerikanska giganter.
