Resilient Digital Infrastructure

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to Sweden's digital infrastructure being able to measure up to the most advanced countries in the world in terms of capacity, quality and security. The project brings together different perspectives to come up with concrete and feasible proposals for action that strengthen the resilience of the digital infrastructure.

Why a Swedish quantum agenda?

A race is under way in quantum technology, a field of research and innovation that is predicted to revolutionise the future development of computers, secure communications and a more efficient energy supply. Several Swedish research bodies have now drawn up an agenda setting out how Sweden can secure its place on the technological train. Per Delsing has been involved in this work.

Today, Marcus Wallenberg was re-elected as Chair of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). Additionally, the Assembly of the Academy elected 41 new Swedish and international fellows – prominent researchers and experts from both the private and public sectors.

Sweden remains at the top of the EU's innovation countries

The other week, the EU's annual list of Europe's top innovation countries, the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS), was published. For the second year in a row, Sweden ranks second on the list, behind Denmark. It is a pleasing position, but there are concerns, says Björn Ekelund, Fellow of IVA and Corporate Research Director at Ericsson.

The right strategy at universities yields more sustainability entrepreneurs

How do we create the right conditions to stimulate entrepreneurship with an emphasis on sustainability in university-adjacent environments? IVA’s Entrepreneurship Academy has sought to answer this question by interviewing researchers, educators and other key individuals at six Swedish universities. Here you can read the results, which are part of a broader, Nordic-Baltic study presented in June 2022.

IVA project expands collaboration between South Korea and Sweden

On 19-20 April, the 2023 Korea-Sweden R2B Forum will be held in South Korea's capital Seoul, a brand new meeting place for the utilisation and commercialisation of research in collaboration between Sweden's and South Korea's innovation systems. The concept is inspired by IVA's Research2Business initiative and IVA's 100 list, and IVA participates as a partner in the forum.

Karin Rådström, vd för Daimler Truck och ledamot av IVA sedan 2023 utses till Näringslivets mäktigaste kvinna 2025. På Dagens industris lista över de 125 kvinnor som de menar har störst makt att göra avtryck i det svenska näringslivet finns hela 21 IVA-ledamöter.

Så påverkar Riksbankens räntesänkningar svenska företag

För andra gången på kort tid har Riksbanken sänkt styrräntan. Sänkningarna är de första på åtta år, och det kan bli fler under året. Det är en utveckling som kan få stor betydelse för många svenska företag. Det säger två av IVAs ledamöter, Annika Winsth, Nordeas chefekonom, och Fredrik Sjöholm, professor i nationalekonomi och vd för Institutet för Näringslivsforskning (IFN).

Smarta algoritmer vässar AI

Med hjälp av smarta algoritmer skapar forskare vid Linköpings universitet fotorealistiska 3d-bilder snabbare, billigare och med lägre energiåtgång än tidigare. Ett hett användningsområde är träning av AI-system. Projektet tog plats på IVAs 100-lista 2022. Målet var att ta forskningen vidare mot kommersialisering, och tekniken utvecklas nu vidare i ett nybildat avknoppningsbolag.
