EPD-Berg - Process and Environmental Platform for a Sustainable Raw Material Production

The EPD-Berg project aims to develop a modular digital platform for evaluating process performance and environmental impacts from extraction and processing of raw materials.

Picture of digital platform to support improved production and procurement of raw materials for both virgin and circular materials.

The objective of research is to strengthen companies’ internal development and facilitate the transitions to more data-informed decision-making by producers and clients to be more proactive in achieving improved production and procurement of raw materials for both virgin and circular materials. This can be achieved by enabling producers to evaluate their operational strategies, equipment selection, electrification, circularity, operational and capital investment and benchmarking their performance to the industry’s current status.

Supporting the prioritization of activities necessary to reach the agenda 2030 goals and paving the way for a more sustainable supply of aggregates and raw materials. The access to the platform is available on request and development is ongoing for a market release in 2025.
